INDRA JATRA This festival is celebrated by both Hindus and Bhuddhist with great enthusiasm. This festival is named after Hindu Lord "Indra", who is the God of Rain and also the king of heaven. Chariot of Living Goddess "Kumari" is taken out on this day along with the chariot of Lord "Ganesha" and "Vairabh". Many interesting dances including 'Dash Avatara' (Ten incarnation of Lord Vishnu) Masked dance is performed at Kathmandu Durbar Square on the Eve of this day. |
