About Gurukul : The Aarohan Theatre Group is based on the traditional concept of learning where there were no formal classrooms and education system. Students lived and worked in the ashram and teachings were not limited to course curriculum. Kul guru- a prime guru had his own principles of teaching. Likewise, in Gurukul, students live at school and manage all the related activities by themselves. Here they are not only taught to be a better performer but also trained to be a better human. Aarohan has adapted and performed some of the great plays of the world in the Nepali context. The list includes Sophocle’s Oedipus, Moliere’s Scapan, Jean Paul Satre’s The Man Without a Shadow and many more. They regularly perform plays by Nepal’s own playwrights such as Govinda Bahadur Gothale, Bijaya Malla, Abhi Subedi, and Ashesh Malla. Gurukul offers: - A two-year residential course
