Borderlands is a spacious, beautiful resort located on the banks of the Bhote Kosi River just 16ks from the Tibetan/Nepali border. Making your way out of Kathmandu valley can be difficult, but the preferred choice is by motorcycle. Fast, reliable, and the only mode of transport that will get you out of the horrendous traffic jams and clouds of dusts that plague Kathmandu driving. Heavier and faster than most, Royal Enfield motorcycles are the Harley Davidson of Asia. With their distinctive sound, it is hard to miss their presence. Renting Enfields is easy and cost effective. Compared to the restrictive conditions of buses and taxis, motorcycle journeys are filled with desired and sometimes undesired stops, the ability to see the countryside in an uninhibited manner, and a liberating experience of monumental proportions.
With stops including lunch and tea breaks, the ride from Kathmandu to the Borderland’s resort took a short four and a half hours. With little traffic and fantastic road conditions, the trip following the Bhote kosi river is one that will not be soon forgotten. Passing quaint villages and vistas that spread the width of the horizon; Nepal can cast a majestic spell.
Borderlands, which began some 15 year prior, has become a sought after destination with foreigners and Nepalese alike. With its laid-back atmosphere and unbeatable location, borderlands is something to write home about. With nearly 20 perminate tents that have been set up under thatched roofs, camping has never better. With four twin size beds in nearly half of the tents and enough space to fit a small army, the feelings of these accommodations are spacious and tranquil. With a large dinning hall and ample places to rest under the canopies of flora and fauna, this resort is really a space to sit back and enjoy the fresh air and bubbling river.
But if it is an adventure you seek, borderlands provides an array of activities that include and are not limited to rafting, trekking, cayoning, border visit, and cooperate training seminars. With extremely helpful staff your experience will only be first class.
